يتناول هذا البحث بالدراسة وظيفة ‘الكاتاسبوريوس‘ أو مشرف بذر الحبوب، في مصر خلال العصر الروماني (30 ق.م – 284م)، وهي من الوظائف التي كان يتم الترشُّح لشغلها عن طريق الخدمة الإلزامية. وسوف نتناول هذه الوظيفة من حيث كيفية شغلها، والشروط الواجب توافرها في شاغليها، ومهامها واختصاصاتها، ونطاق عمل موظفيها، ومدة شغل الوظيفة، ورؤساء الكاتاسبوريوس في العمل، ونتائج الإهمال والتراخي في أداء متطلبات هذه الوظيفة.

Abstract: This research deals with the study of the office of “katasporeus”, or “inspector of sowing” in Roman Egypt (30 BC - 284 AD), and it was one of the offices that were occupied by nomination as complusery service (leitourgia), We will discuss this office in terms of, how it was taking over, the conditions that must be met in candidates, functions, and duties of katasporeus, the area of responsibility, the term of his office, the heads of the katasporeus at work, and the negligence and laxity in performing the requirements of this office.
