يهتم هذا البحث بدراسة أهم الحرف والصناعات في إقليم قورينة في العصر البيزنطي في ضوء رسائل سينسيوس القوريني (360-413م)، حيث كان هناك وفرة في المواد الخام التي تمتلكها المدينة، ومنها: مواد خام زراعية مثل الفاكهة المتنوعة، والشجيرات المعمرة، وبعض الحاصلات الأخرى مثل الحبوب وشجيرات ونباتات عشبية. كما وجد بالإقليم الغابات الكبيرة التي كانت كافية لأن تمد النشاط الصناعي بما يكفيه من أنواع الأخشاب الجيدة. هذا بالإضافة إلى توفر الخامات الحيوانية بالإقليم، إلى جانب وجود بعض الخامات المعدنية والأحجار الكريمة، كل هذا أدى إلى توفر كثير من المواد الخام النباتية والحيوانية والمعدنية اللازمة لقيام نشاط صناعي به، وأدى إلى تنوع الصناعات في ذلك الإقليم.
The Most Important Crafts and Industries in the Province of Cyrene in the Byzantine era in the Light of the Letters of Synesius of Cyrene.
Abstract: This research is concerned with studying the most important crafts and industries in the province of Cyrene in the Byzantine era in the light of the letters of Synesius of Cyrene (360-413 AD), where there was an abundance of raw materials owned by the city, including agricultural raw materials such as various fruits, perennial shrubs, and some other crops such as cereals, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. He also found in the region large forests that were sufficient to supply the industrial activity with sufficient types of good timber. This is in addition to the availability of animal raw materials in the region, in addition to the presence of some mineral ores and precious stones. All this led to the availability of many plants, animals, and mineral raw materials needed for industrial activity in it, and led to the diversity of industries in that region.
